Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the company’s finance organization and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, supporting the next phase of growth. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on finance leader with public company experience, strong capital markets expertise, and industry knowledge in utilities, water purification, environmental services, and/or clean energy sectors.The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with operational discipline and experience operating in high-growth, regulated, and capital-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Shape long-term corporate strategy and growth initiatives
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling
• Provide data-driven insights for capital allocation, M&A, and investment decisions
• Partner cross-functionally to improve margins and operational efficiency
Public Company Compliance
• Oversee SEC reporting, SOX controls, and public company governance
• Ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance and regulatory adherence
• Manage auditor, legal, and regulatory relationships
• Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks
Capital Markets & Investor Relations
• Lead equity and debt financing initiatives
• Support investor relations strategy and Board communications
• Build credibility with investors, analysts, and lenders
• Optimize capital structure to support liquidity and growth
Financial Operations
• Oversee accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, and financial systems
• Build scalable infrastructure for domestic and international growth
• Strengthen working capital management and cash flow forecasting
• Implement best-in-class reporting systems
Industry-Specific Financial Leadership
• Support project finance and contract modeling (water, PFAS, clean energy)
• Evaluate government funding, grants, and incentives
• Monitor regulatory and commodity trends
• Guide pricing strategy and long-term contract economics
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred)
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
• Public company CFO or senior finance leadership experience
• Deep knowledge of SEC reporting and SOX compliance
• Proven success in capital raising and debt financing
• Strong financial modeling and strategic planning capabilities
• Experience operating in high-growth environments
Preferred:
• Experience with project finance, EPC contracts, or long-term service agreements
• Background in manufacturing, industrial technology, environmental solutions, water purification, PFAS treatment, infrastructure, or clean energy
• Experience with government contracts or municipal customers
• M&A transaction and integration experience
• Experience scaling finance teams in PE-backed or high-growth public companies
